Rocky Mountain Construction became very well known for their conversions of old, rough, and boring Wooden Coasters. Many people have been saying that RMC has ran out of coasters to convert, but I'd disagree. Today, I am going to look at 5 coasters that I see getting the RMC Iron Horse conversion.
#5: Cheetah at Wild Adventures
This is only on the list because it is a prime conversion and it appears to be getting the conversion. Herschend Family Entertainment, the company that owns Wild Adventures, already bought 2 RMC Ground Up coasters. They also have installed iBox Track on Lightning Rod and they operate Storm Chaser.
Cheetah seems to have had its track carefully removed, saving the structure. The ride is closed, so they aren't retracking it. It really looks like an RMC Conversion, but it still hasn't been announced yet.
#4: Roar at Six Flags America
Something that coaster enthusiasts don't seem to mention is that Six Flags America's park president has already confirmed that this will happen. During an online event about the park's future, it was said that they want to focus on improving the park and, during an FAQ part of the video, the park president basically said that RMC Roar will happen, just they want to focus on some other improvements first.
#3: Magnus Colossus at Terra Mitica
This ride has been closed since 2016. This is an RCCA Wooden Coaster that nobody liked. I haven't heard much about the ride experience, but I've only heard bad things about literally every other RCCA Wooden Coaster.
Magnus Colossus has a similar terrain to the original Rattler at Six Flags Fiesta Texas and is made by the same company. RMC would probably love to do this project. The park has also been having financial issues and issues with attendance, so an RMC would probably be the perfect addition.
#2: Loup-Garou at Walibi Belgium
Loup-Garou is a Vekoma Wooden Coaster at Walibi Belgium. At Walibi Holland, Loup-Garou's Sister Coaster, Robin Hood, was given the RMC Treatment. Loup-Garou is known to be a rough, painful, boring wooden coaster. Robin Hood was at least known to not be a bad ride. Overall, I see this happening soon.
#1: Coaster Express at Parque Warner Madrid
Everyone who has ridden this completely hates it. Based on the reviews I've heard, it is Rough, Painful, Forceless, and Boring. It seems like an awful ride that needs the RMC Treatment. This seems to be a very popular park in the Parques Reunidos chain. It hasn't gotten a new coaster since 2009. They are long overdue for a new coaster and Coaster Express is a negative in the lineup. The RMC Conversion of Coaster Express would be very good for the park.
