Dear Kennywood,
Recently, you probably noticed how many people have been upset about the rides removed. Now, I want to try helping you out. Please listen to what I'm saying. My goal here is to help you make more money and get a better reputation.
The first thing you need to do is stop removing fan favorite attractions. The rides you removed in 2020 were some of the best, most popular flat rides in the park. The following rides should not be removed unless there is an event that destroys them:
-Whip
-Turtle
-Jackrabbit
-Racer
-Thunderbolt
-Old Mill
-Phantom's Revenge
-Exterminator
-Steel Curtain
-Aero 360
-Auto Race
-Noah's Ark
Furthermore, there are rides that people wouldn't care about being removed. Here is a list of rides that can be removed without issue:
-Raging Rapids
-Red Baron
-Elephant Parade
-Dizzy Dynamo
-Diesel Drivers
Here is one more list of rides. These are rides that, while people would be upset about losing, people wouldn't care too much and people would get over it with the right addition:
-Pirate
-Wave Swinger
-Skyrocket
-Black Widow
-Ghostwood Estate
Now, there are also some new rides you should consider adding. People are expecting something to come soon. If that doesn't happen, you will lose a lot of visitors.
You should consider adding a new family Flat Ride and a new Thrilling Roller Coaster soon.
Based on prices, I think that it would be best for you to add an RMC Raptor, Vekoma Suspended Thrill Coaster or a Launched Flying Coaster. These would likely be a good price and would be very unique for the area.
For the next coaster, I'd recommend the RMC Raptor. Afterwards, I would recommend you start working with Vekoma for a Suspended Thrill Coaster. The Flying Launch Coaster would be more original for the area, but it is less likely that people will like it.
For a family Flat Ride, I would recommend the Zamperla WindStarZ since it is similar to Paratrooper. If not that, you might want to get a Zamperla Kang 'A' Bounce. That is themed to a Kangaroo, it seems, and the ride seems somewhat similar to Kangaroo. Either of these will help make up for the removal of some of the classic rides.
Other than the rides, though, you should try opening for more of the year. I would recommend that you start a monthly membership system that would be similar to the Six Flags Membership System. I go more in-depth in this article: https://pittsburghthrills.wixsite.com/main/post/palace-entertainment-membership-idea
To stay open more often, you should have more events in the winter. In January, February, and March, you should open up these attractions:
-Ghostwood Estate
-Exterminator
-Gift Shops
-Penny Arcade
-Steelers Experience
-End Zone Café
-Parkside Café
-Grand Carousel
-A Journey with Thomas
-Cranky's Drop Tower
-Harold's Helicopter Tour
Those will likely be enough to draw some crowds in the winter. The events can be pretty profitable. People will pay to go see Kennywood and ride some rides in the winter. The events can be sponsored, which can allow for the events to be more profitable.
I'd recommend that, if weather permits, you should open more attractions for pay-per-attraction. Season Pass Holders or Members would get in without needing to pay extra. Pay Per Attraction operations should stay until Spring. The goal here is to try making extra money in the winter. If you stay open with limited operations in the winter, you could make more money. I think that people will still pay to visit Kennywood to ride a few rides and see Steelers Experience. There could even be a winter event dedicated to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Steelers Country when there is a game.
I hope that you can keep making enough money to operate the classic rides still at Kennywood, and I hope that you will consider some of these recommendations. Kangaroo, Paratrooper, and Bayern Kurve will be missed, but I understand the decision and I hope that you can make up the lost profits from 2020. Good Luck for the 2021 Season.
