Since around Fall of 2020, I was thinking about the idea of, in the future, opening my own amusement park. It would be called Infinity Park. The park would be the destination for the best wooden coasters in the world and it would be the wood coaster capital of the world. Today, I wanted to talk about what would be in the park.
The main rule is that there is a budget of $100,000,000. I will look into the known prices. If I can't find a known price, I'll estimate based on what I've heard.
Coaster 1: Starborn
This will be a tribute to older coasters by companies like National Amusement Devices and Philadelphia Toboggan Company (Now Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters). Starborn will be packed with airtime throughout the ride, and it will have just buzz bars. The ride will be built by Martin and Vleminckx.
The ride would have a similar layout to Phoenix at Knoebels. For this, I am going to estimate the cost to be around $5,000,000. This is more than Zippin Pippin at Bay Beach, but that ride reused some parts of the original and re-used trains from another defunct ride.
Coaster 2: Dipper
This will be a relocation... sort of. This will use some parts and have the same layout as Cyclone at William's Grove. The ride will also use new trains, though. This will make the park have 2 classic wooden coasters. If I were to estimate the costs, I would say around $3,000,000.
Coaster 3: Salvation
This will be the first new-generation Intamin PreFabricated Wooden Coaster. This will have several moments of sustained ejector airtime. It will often be considered to be better than El Toro. This ride will also be the park's most expensive opening-day coaster, at $30,000,000.
Coaster 4: Little Dipper
Let's take a quick break from thrill rides and instead go over the first family coaster: Little Dipper. This will be a Gravity Group Family Coaster. These are often very well received by both coaster enthusiasts and the general public. This specific one will have some wood supports and some steel supports. This will be around $5,000,000.
Coaster 5: Enchanted Flame
This would not necessarily be the final name. This would be a GCI Custom Wooden Coaster. It would focus on Laterals, Airtime, and Cross-overs. This would likely be one of the best GCI coasters. It would likely cost around $15,000,000.
Coaster 6: Teddy Bear
This will be a family wooden coaster, and it will be a 3rd classic wooden coaster. This will be a clone of Teddy Bear at Stricker's Grove, which is a clone of the Teddy Bear coasters that used to operate at Kennywood and Coney Island. These appear to be fun, classic family coasters.
I think that this will cost around $3,000,000.
Coaster 7/8: The Tickler and Brownie Coaster
These will be 2 kiddie coasters. These will be based on older Kiddie coasters by W.F. Mangels.
Tickler will be a clone of the former Tickler coasters at Kennywood, Spanish City Amusement Park, Sans Souci (original in Illinois, not the one that was in Pennsylvania), and Tolchester Beach Park. These coasters were mini Virginia Reel Spinning Coasters.
Brownie Coaster will be a relocation of Kiddie Coaster at Bushkill Park, which was a W.F. Mangels Brownie Coaster. The ride is in storage, so it may be able to come back. These models may have actually been the first Powered coasters.
These coasters combined would likely cost around $1,000,000.
Coaster 9: Wildfire
This would be an RMC Ground-Up coaster. There will be a mix of iBox and Topper track, helping save money. There would be similar theming to Wildfire at Kolmården, but it would be slightly more in-depth. This ride would cost around $10,000,000.
Coaster 10: Serial Thriller
While this name has been used for a couple SLCs, this will not be an SLC. This will actually be a Gravity Group Thrill coaster. This will have beyond 90 degree turns, a corkscrew, and strong ejector airtime throughout the ride. This will use the Timberliner trains by Gravitykraft Corporation. I estimate that this ride will cost around $7,000,000
Flat Rides:
Any balanced park should have a good flat ride collection. At this point, there is still a large amount of money left in the budget ($22,000,000), so we can probably add some decent flat rides.
Here are the rides I picked and how much they would cost:
Infinity Park Starflyer:
This will be a Funtime Starflyer. This ride will cost around $10,000,000. It will be the world's tallest swing ride, though. This can become very easily marketable.
Hawk Swing:
This would be an S&S Screamin' Swing. According to Kennywood, SwingShot (which is this model) cost $2,500,000.
Triple Towers:
These will be exactly the same as the Hershey's Triple Towers at Hersheypark, which cost them $8,000,000.
After that, there is still $1.5 Million left in the budget. This will go to things like shuttles, stores, and restaurants.
Finally, I want to go over the location. I want this park to be open Year Round. I wanted this to also be near bigger cities. That is why I chose Macon, Georgia. This area's 100 Year Average Winter Temperature is 48 Degrees Fahrenheit, which is not too bad. The area has a population of over 150,000 people. Macon is just over an hour away from Atlanta and is around 3 hours from Tallahassee. It is also around 5 hours from Orlando. This means that people can take day trips here from some large cities or weekend trips from others. It is also around the half way point between Augusta, Georgia and Montgomery, Alabama. This just seems like a great location overall, so that is why I pick it.
In conclusion, there will be several thrilling flat rides and plenty of fun Coasters at this new conceptual park. If enough people want it, I can also make a creation of this park in NoLimits 2, though it may take a few weeks. Thanks for reading, and please check out more content here at Pittsburgh Thrills.
