Welcome to Part 3 of my 20 Year Kennywood Predictions. Today, we are going over my predictions to the years 2031 to 2035.
If you haven't already, please go check out my first 2 articles where I discussed my predictions from 2021-2030. Now, we are fully going into the new decade.
Now, let's just go through my predictions from 2030. I predicted that they will add a B&M Hyper called The Eagle. It would be a coaster as part of the entrance. No new ride was announced for 2031, though, and there were just some unannounced Park Improvements for 2031. Now, let's get to the predictions.
2031:
In January, the park improvements will be fully announced. There will be some new paths in Lost Kennywood and Kennyville. New trees will be planted in Kennyville. Whip will be repainted.
Furthermore, Phantom's Revenge will be getting a full refurbishment. The 40-Year-Old track on the lift and at the Station will be replaced. The Station will also be replaced, as the station will turn 51 in 2031, so that will be replaced by a modern station. The gates will better line up with the trains. The current gates were meant for Laser Loop, not Steel Phantom for Phantom's Revenge. There will also be some changes to the storage tracks, too, but they won't be major changes.
In the summer, we will finally see the replacement for Volcano under construction. This will be an S&S Double Tower. One tower will be a Space Shot. The other tower will be a Spin Shot tower. Kennywood has no 4d rides, so they may want to get one anyways.
In the Winter, The Eagle will stay open as the signature attraction of Holiday Lights.
2032:
In Spring of 2032, the Drop Towers will open. This will help fill a long lasting hole in Kennywood's lineup.
We won't see any new Land Clearing or anything. There won't be any new rides in 2033.
Nothing much will happen in Fall or Winter 2032. The Drop Towers may be opened, but that is about it.
2033:
When the park opens, there will be more noticeable improvements to the park overall. There will be more art around the park to make the park look nice. Rides such as Pittsburg Plunge, Turtle, and Thunderbolt will be repainted. New paint will be added to several buildings at Kennywood. New gardens will be planted near Sky Rocket and The Eagle.
There won't be any new rides in 2033 or 2034. No land clearing will occur. The park will have just invested in major new additions for around 10 years every year, so they will need to take a break to appreciate these major investments.
2034:
When the park opens back up, it will be more beautiful than ever. There will be new paint on the George Washington statue and Auto Race. The sign for Phantom's Revenge will be replaced. Thunderbolt will get a great new entrance sign, since they don't have any. Smoking will be banned in the main park (outside of pavilions).
The main new thing that people will like is the new track on the wooden coasters. Jackrabbit and Thunderbolt are getting rougher now, but they will now get a complete re-tracking. There will be a new roadside sign.
Finally, I think that they will add new gardens. I think that new gardens could be planted in Kiddieland, Thomas Town, Kennyville, and Lost Kennywood.
In the spring, we'll start seeing construction in Steelers Experience. At this point, it will have been 14 years since its construction, and they'll need some new attractions there. This will include a coaster themed to Football. This will be an SBF Spinner. These are compact coasters meant for kids, and this would be decently themed.
Later in the season, the ride will be finished and will test throughout the season. The ride will have a Season Passholder Ride Night in Winter 2034, but the ride won't open to the general public for 2034.
2035:
The SBF Spinner will open to the public in Spring 2035. This family ride will be pretty popular.
Through the rest of the year, there will be no more ride construction.
No new rides will be announced throughout the year. Park improvements will be announced, though.
That is the end of this list, so please check out the other lists in this series and check in on Friday for the final part. Thank you for reading!
