Before I talk about this, I do need to talk about a slight problem I have here. I have ridden some of Kennywood's defunct rides, but I have very few memories of most of them. There were 3 years straight when I didn't go to Kennywood. In 2015, 2016, and 2017, I made no visits to Kennywood. I visited again in 2018, then started becoming a Season Passholder in 2019. I have ridden 8 defunct rides at Kennywood, and 2 of them were cloned Kids rides.
The last time I rode Log Jammer, was shortly before my 7th birthday in 2014. As I go back further and further, the ride experience is more and more forgotten. I do still remember some parts of it, though, just the memories are quite foggy. Compare that to the other rides in this series, which I rode in 2019 and/or 2020. I have more memories from when I was 11, 12, and 13 than I did when I was 5 or 6. Now, let's talk about what I remember.
My experience at Kennywood always would begin with me walking in and walking straight for Log Jammer. After riding, we would usually get Funnel Cakes or Deep Fried Oreos or something like that from the food stand next door.
We would walk to the ride. The line would look short, but it would take a very long time to get on because of low capacity.
Eventually, you would board the log. After that, you would go to the lift soon. When going up the lift, you could take in your surroundings. You could get a good view of Racer. When you got to the top, you would turn. This is where the fun begins.
You drop off the top area and then, after a long feeling drop, you would go into an airtime hill that provided some good airtime. I don't remember what came directly afterwards, but you would go into another lift at some point. Then, there was another turn and another drop.
I don't remember if there was another airtime hill, but I think there was another good airtime hill. You would then go to the station.
Log Jammer used to be my favorite ride at Kennywood. It may not have been new or original, but I loved it because it was very fun. When Kennywood closed it in 2017, I was in denial and was very sad. Eventually, they replaced it with a worthy successor: Steel Curtain. Steel Curtain became my favorite Kennywood ride soon enough, and I can't wait to ride it more in 2021.
