As an Amusement Park enthusiast, I would love to visit a lot of parks, but it is common for me to drive past amusement parks for many reasons. In the past, I've seen a lot of Roller Coasters that I haven't been able to ride. Today, I wanted to rank them.
First, I want to talk about the parks on the list. The main rules for this list are that I have to have seen the coaster but not ridden anything at the park that day. Also, this will include Under Construction Roller Coasters or roller coasters that were under construction at the time, as long as track was visible. Also, keep in mind that these are just predictions based on what I have heard.
Now, let's get to the list.
#10: Looping Star at Jolly Roger at the Pier
Jolly Roger at the Pier is one of the major amusement parks in Ocean City, Maryland. I was only at the boardwalk for an hour, mainly for Ice Cream. I saw Looping Star run when walking on the boardwalk and we even passed the entrance to the park, but we didn't go in. It looks to go through the loop and drop very fast, so they look quite whippy and fun, but reviews tell a completely different story. Despite what the name suggests, this is actually a Pinfari Looping Zyklon, not a Schwarzkopf Looping Star. The reviews suggest the ride is rough, painful, and uncomfortable. That is why it ranks so low.
#9: Tidal Wave at Trimper Rides Amusements
Trimper Rides Amusements is another Ocean City amusement park. Unlike Jolly Roger at the Pier, I actually went into the outdoor area of Trimper Rides. I watched Tidal Wave and Spinning coaster run. I would've ridden Tidal Wave if it was at a reasonable price, but $9 for a Boomerang with Arrow Trains that looks janky just watching it is not worth it. I didn't ride anything at this overpriced park since it was all too expensive.
#8: Spinning Coaster at Trimper Rides Amusements
Spinning Coaster is the SBF Spinner at Trimper Rides. I also saw this ride running. I even walked pretty close to the ride. This ranks low since it's a kiddie coaster, but it ranks above 2 coasters because Tidal Wave and Looping Star are of some of the most hated models in the world.
#7: Invertigo at Kings Island
I've been on a highway next to Kings Island a lot when going to visit family. Invertigo is one of the major coasters I saw. It looks fun and it has some decent reviews. I think that I'd really enjoy it.
#6: Wildcat at Adventure Park USA
I've heard that the Schwarzkopf Wildcat models are fun. Everyone seems to describe them as smooth and they look to have some airtime. They look like if PTC designed a compact coaster, the ride was fabricated by Allen Herchell, and the trains were Wild Mouse trains. It looks like a very fun ride and I would love to ride it. If I ever go on a trip to Baltimore, I'll try going since it is on the way.
#5: Wild West Express
Wild West Express looks like a lot of fun, too. I've heard that it has a bit of a rattle, but I don't think I'd mind. People say that Steel Curtain has a noticeable rattle, but I find Steel Curtain's rattle to actually make the ride better. Wild West Express looks like a pretty good ride, overall.
#4: Diamondback at Kings Island
People seem to rate B&M Hypers very high, but I don't understand why. Floater airtime can be fun, but I think that it shouldn't be the only thing a ride should focus on. Floater airtime improves rides that focus on other things, like positives and laterals, but Floater Airtime isn't enough on its own. People also say that Diamondback has a rattle. I hear that all of the B&M coasters at Kings Island have a rattle, but Diamondback is the oldest and the rattle is said to take away from the ride a lot. Overall, the ride looks pretty boring. I just rank it this high because it's a hyper that looks comfortable, at least.
#3: The Bat at Kings Island
This is an unpopular opinion, but I think that the larger Arrow Suspended Coasters look better than B&M Hypers. B&M's Mini Hypers and Hypers look like their worst models, more boring than their family coasters. On the other hand, The Bat looks very fun. It looks like it has intense swinging and looks to be a pretty complete ride.
#2: Banshee at Kings Island
Banshee looks very fun. I have heard that it is very rough, but I've also heard that the rattle isn't nearly as bad towards the front of some trains. Banshee looks very intense and it looks comfortable. It doesn't look like it'll give any airtime or much hangtime, but the intensity will almost certainly make up for it.
#1: Orion at Kings Island
When I mentioned the thing about rides that were under construction at the time or rides that are currently under construction, I put that in only because of Orion. I saw it under construction in late November of 2019. I saw some of the lift, but that was about it, as far as I remember. Orion does look like a lot of fun, though. It looks somewhat intense, though not too intense. It looks to have some decent airtime. It also looks to have some great terrain interaction and it looks to have some decent low-to-the-ground sections. I think Orion looks very fun and is probably the best coaster I've seen but not ridden.
I hope you've enjoyed this list. If you did, please consider sharing this article to help me grow this website and consider reading more of my articles. Thanks for reading and goodbye.
